A drop-in panel in the standard airbox changes the flow before the throttle body. Small on paper, and still worth mapping around.
Naturally aspirated, at every level — from completely standard, through to upgraded exhausts and intakes. We tune for the actual airflow going through your engine: maximum brake torque at part throttle, and maximum power at full throttle.
Standard airbox or not, the map is written around what the engine is actually breathing through.

An open cone shifts both airflow and intake temperature. Both matter, and both show up in your logs.

A tubular manifold changes where the engine wants to make its torque. The map follows the hardware, not a template.
In complete OEM format, expect around an extra 15bhp on the ND1 2.0L, 8bhp on the ND2 2.0L, and 9bhp on the 1.5s.
We make changes to the cam positions and ignition throughout the map to give improvements to fuel economy too. See our YouTube demonstrating these results.
We have the cam specs for all the OEM Mazda models, so there is no guess work — the correct intake and exhaust valve events are set, verified by your logs, with full tunability available.
